Micro-Air EasyStart
In an effort to from having to use two Honda generators on the Camano I am trying out this from Micro-Air:
I will wire it into the air conditioner (a MarinAir 16,000 Btu unit I installed in 2017) following the wiring diagram provided. I'll render a report once I get the boat in the water and can crank up the AC.
Bottom paint should be applied this week. It will then be time to do some waxing, re-install the cockpit hardtop, Lanacote the props, put the impeller back in, etc, etc!
Launched and tested the Micro-Air. It started the AC, no problem. Jane and I are heading over to the Little Choptank tomorrow morning ( 31st) and we’ll test it for real once we anchor in Hudson Creek. We only plan to stay out until Monday.
ReplyDeleteMicro-Air continues to work like a charm in this incredible heat. We cruised over to the Little Choptank with Not A Clew this past Friday, spent the afternoon in air conditioned comfort while anchored. During the night NAC experienced a generator failure and in the morning was unsure of their electrical system as it was acting weird. Given that and the heat, we decided to return to Flag and wait for this heat wave to burn out. In spite of the generator problem it was considered a successful trip by both crews.
